With two young children and a part-time role as a speech pathologist, I knew I needed a change. Though I loved working with the kids in my job, I discovered that the paperwork, office politics, and lack of flexibility in setting my own schedule were things that I didn't like. I needed something of my own that would allow me to be a stay-at-home mom, generate income and give me something that I could feel like was mine.
I stumbled on a third party website called Teachers Pay Teachers where educators sold PDF downloads to other educators. I could use my creativity to sell games and worksheets to speech pathologists and make an income for myself. In the beginning, it was amazing! I worked nonstop during nap times, after bed time and any spare minute I could find to create hundreds of PDFs to sell individually. I listened to business podcasts while doing dishes, read business books at night, took marketing courses when I could, paid for expensive business coaches and did anything I could to grow my business. The process was overwhelming, but my business grew.
The demand on my time with three kids made it clear that selling individual $2 resources repeatedly was not sustainable in the long term. This realization made me pivot and I started a membership for speech pathologists.
The membership quickly gained traction and grew to 1500 members. This not only marked a significant moment in my entrepreneurial journey, but allowed me to retire my husband in 2020 from his job as a financial planner.

In 2023, after making multiple 7 figures through my membership, I made the decision to sell my business. Throughout the years of owning an online business, I discovered a love for helping and supporting fellow stay-at-home moms in their business endeavors. It became clear to me that this was more than just a passion – it was a calling and a purpose.
So, I sold my business in February of 2023 and started Not Simply Mom in 2024! Now, I help fellow stay-at-home moms create and grow their own online businesses during their mini MOMents of time. I can't wait to help you!
